Terms & conditions
Last updated: 5 November 2026
These terms apply to your use of ldtmotorcompany.co.uk and to vehicles purchased from LDT Motor Company Ltd (“we”, “us”). We are registered in England & Wales under company number 17358555. Registered office and showroom: 78A Upper Aughton Road, Southport, Merseyside PR8 5NJ.
Vehicle information and pricing
We work hard to keep details, photos and prices accurate. Mistakes can happen. Please check any detail that matters to you before you buy. If we discover an error after you have ordered, we will tell you and you may continue at the correct details or cancel. We are not obliged to sell a vehicle at an incorrect advertised price.
Availability
All vehicles are subject to availability and may be withdrawn without notice.
Reserving a car (holding deposits)
You can ask to reserve a car on our website, by phone, by email or in person. We ask for a holding deposit (currently £99), normally paid by bank transfer. Reservation requests made on the website are not confirmed, and the car is not held, until we have received and confirmed your deposit.
- The deposit is a refundable holding deposit. It is not an extra charge.
- Once we have received and confirmed your deposit, we hold the car for you for 7 days (or longer if we agree it with you in writing). Until then the car is not held.
- If you buy the car, the deposit is deducted from the price.
- If you change your mind or decide not to buy, tell us and we will refund the deposit in full, normally within 14 days.
- Reserving does not commit you to buying the car. These deposit terms do not reduce any legal cancellation rights you have.
- If the car is no longer available, or we cannot complete the sale, we will refund the deposit in full.
To cancel a reservation, tell us by phone, email or in person. We refund to the account or card you paid from, unless we agree otherwise. After the hold period ends we may offer the car to other customers. If we sell it to someone else, we refund your deposit in full.
A reservation only holds the car. Buying the car is a separate agreement that we make with you when you decide to go ahead.
Buying without visiting us (distance sales)
If you agree to buy a car from us without meeting us face to face (for example you agree the sale by phone, email or online and we deliver the car to you), the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 usually give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days. The 14 days start the day after you receive the car.
- How to cancel: tell us clearly by phone, email or post before the 14 days end. You can use the model cancellation form, but you do not have to.
- Returning the car: if you cancel, you must return the car to us at LDT Motor Company Ltd, 78A Upper Aughton Road, Southport, Merseyside PR8 5NJ, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after telling us you are cancelling.
- Return costs: you will have to bear the direct cost of returning the car. A car cannot be returned by post, and the cost cannot be calculated in advance because it depends on the distance and how you return it (for example driving it back yourself or arranging transport). Ask us for an estimate of the return cost before you buy.
- Exception: if the contract was made away from our premises and the car was delivered to your home at the time the contract was made, we will collect it at our own cost.
- Refund: we refund the price, including the cost of standard delivery, within 14 days of getting the car back (or of you giving us evidence that you have sent it back, if that is earlier).
- Condition: please take reasonable care of the car while you have it. We may reduce the refund if the car has lost value because it was handled or used more than you needed to check it (for example, extra mileage beyond a reasonable test).
If you buy the car in person at our premises, this 14-day cancellation right does not apply, but your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (below) still do.
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
If you buy as a consumer, the car must be of satisfactory quality (taking into account its age, mileage and price), fit for purpose and as described. If it is not:
- within 30 days of taking ownership and delivery, you can usually reject the car and get a refund;
- after that, you can usually ask us to repair or replace it, and if that is not possible or does not fix the problem, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a refund (which may take into account the use you have had of the car).
Nothing in these terms or our warranty reduces these rights. For free, impartial advice, contact Citizens Advice.
Warranty
Retail vehicles are supplied with a 12-month dealer warranty unless stated otherwise. Trade sales are sold without warranty. See our warranty page. The warranty is in addition to your legal rights.
Part exchange
Any part-exchange offer is subject to inspection of the vehicle and verification of mileage, condition and that any money still owed on the vehicle is settled as agreed.
Delivery
Nationwide delivery is available at £1.50 per mile from our Southport premises, unless we agree another arrangement in writing.
